In a few words…
This past Thursday I joined with clergy from around the North Texas Conference as we met with our Bishop for a State of the Church address. There is not much that I am able to share from this meeting, but what I can tell you is that I am so proud of the leadership Bishop Michael McKee shares with us all. At a time that is seemingly difficult in our country and in The United Methodist Church, our bishop leads with grace, compassion, and vulnerable transparency. When all around us may suggest that much is broken, he reminds us of God’s call to unity and reconciliation. No matter what the issue, no matter what our beliefs or our perspective, we are charged with the call to find where we are more similar than we are different and strive for unity in all things. I give thanks for Cornerstone and your willingness to faithfully pursue this call. See you Sunday – I’ll save a seat for you!
Peace be with you ~
