Pastor Rick Hawkins

Rev. Rick Hawkins is an Elder in The United Methodist Church serving the North Texas Conference

Reverend Rick Hawkins is a Dallas native and has been serving the DFW community for quite some time. Pastor Hawkins has a Bachellor’s degree from University of Texas at Arlington, Master’s of Education from Prairie View A & M University, and a Master’s of Divinity from Perkins School of Theology at SMU.

Before becoming a pastor in the North Texas Annual Conference, Pastor Hawkins served as a middle school teacher, a curriculum writer, and chaired the Social Studies Committee in Dallas ISD.

Pastor Hawkins was ordained as a Deacon in the North Texas Annual Conference and ordained as an Elder in the Central Texas Conference. He has served numerous District and Conference positions in both Annual Conferences.

Pastor Rick Hawkins brings with him a ton of experience as well. He has served as chair of Young Adult Ministries, a member and vice-chair on the District Committee on Ministry, on the Executive Committee of Conference Board of Ordained Ministry, as a member of the Black Methodists for Church Renewal, and as a Mentor Pastor.

Other responsibilities include: Pastor of churches in Central Texas and North Texas Conference. Staff of North Texas Conference Council on Ministries, Associate Director Director of North Texas Conference Shalom Zone Ministries Executive Staff on the General Board of Global Ministries of The United Methodist Church New York and Dallas Served as pastor of several cross-racial / cross-cultural appointments in Dallas, Irving, Lancaster Numerous Community Organizations such as United Way, John Ford Foundation, Chamber of Commerce, Lion’s Club, Rotary International,, Literary Instruction for Texas ESL, Literacy Achieves ESL, Board Member of Umphress Terrace of C. C. Young, etc.
