The Bible for Grown-Ups

The Bible for Grown-Ups

Class Begins January 26th

Sundays @ 9:30 AM in room 210

The Christian Bible is one of the most influential books in Western civilization, yet many of us take it for granted or have been poorly informed about what it is. You may have one or two at home, yet you haven’t opened it since it was gifted to you many years ago. You may be a well-seasoned reader that has spent many years reading it from cover to cover. Whoever you are, one thing we are pretty sure about is that the Bible, although valuable source of information, can be an intimidating piece of literature for both novices and scholars alike. Would you like some help? Would you like to know more about what you are reading? Who put it together? Why it is important?

Starting on Sunday, January 26th, at 9:30 AM we will be taking a look at the Bible and hopefully answering some questions you have been longing to ask. Here are a few of the topics that we will cover:

  • What is the Bible?
  • Who Wrote the Bible?
  • Reading the Bible as a Unified Story
  • Context of Scripture
  • People of the Bible
  • Understanding the Old Testament
  • Biblical Law
  • Understanding the New Testament
  • How to Read the Gospels?
