Over the summer, we'll be delving into this powerful prayer, line by line, and discover what Jesus meant when he shared it with his disciples over 2000 years ago.
We'll also explore why this prayer was considered radical and controversial in its time. And, of course, we'll unpack its relevance for our lives today.
Worship for All Ages
EVERYONE is invited to join us in all our celebrations of worship. Families are encouraged to worship with their children. Staffed nursery care is provided.
If parents prefer, we offer the option of Children's Church (for ages 5 and under) following our Children's Sermon during our 11am worship service.
What's the style of worship at Cornerstone?
While we are a community of individuals with unique tastes and preferences, we gather to worship as one people, knowing that God's Spirit stirs among each of us in unique and different ways.
Therefore, the worship services at Cornerstone are "blended" -- which means the musical styles we hear and sing are a blend of both old and new, traditional and contemporary.
For us, that means that music during our 8:30 service is mostly traditional, but it includes some contemporary aspects.
And it means that music during our 11:00 service is mostly contemporary, but it includes some traditional music as well.

RECENT SERMON SERIES...
The story of Christ's birth is a story of promise, hope, and a revolutionary love.
So, what happened?
What was once a time to celebrate the birth of a Savior has somehow turned into a season of stress, traffic jams, and shopping lists. And when it's all over, many of us are left with presents to return, looming debt that will take months to payoff, and this empty feeling of missed purpose.
Is this what we really want out of Christmas?
And, more importantly, is this what God intended?
What if Christmas became a world-changing event again?
This year, in the 4 weeks leading to Christmas, we'll prepare to reclaim and proclaim Christ throughout the Christmas season, and beyond!
Worship Fully / November 29
It starts with Jesus. It ends with Jesus. This is the holistic approach God had in mind for Christmas. It's a season where we are called to put down our burdens and lift a song up to our God. Its a season where love wins, peace reigns, and a king is celebrated with each breath. It's the party of the year. Entering the story of advent means entering this season with an overwhelming passion to worship Jesus to the fullest.
Spend Less / December 6
Before you think we're getting all Scrooge on you, let us explain what we mean. We like gifts. Our kids really like gifts. But consider this: America spends an average of $450 billion a year every Christmas. How often have you spent money on Christmas presents for no other reason than obligation? How many times have you received a gift out of that same obligation? Thanks, but no thanks, right? We're asking people to consider buying ONE LESS GIFT this Christmas. Just one. Sounds insignificant, yet many who have taken this small sacrifice have experienced something nothing less than a miracle: They have been more available to celebrate Christ during the advent season.
Give More / December 13
God's gift to us was a relationship built on love. So it's no wonder why we're drawn to the idea that Christmas should be a time to love our friends and family in the most memorable ways possible. Time is the real gift Christmas offers us, and no matter how hard we look, it cant be found at the mall. Time to make a gift that turns into the next family heirloom. Time to write mom a letter. Time to take the kids sledding. Time to bake really good cookies and sing really bad Christmas carols. Time to make love visible through relational giving. Sounds a lot better than getting a sweater two sizes too big, right?
Love All / December20
When Jesus loved, he loved in ways never imagined. Though rich, he became poor to love the poor, the forgotten, the overlooked and the sick. He played to the margins. By spending less at Christmas we have the opportunity to join him in giving resources to those who need help the most. One less gift. One unbelievable present in the name of Christ.
American Idols: Moving from Idol Worship to God Worship
The Search for American Idols
Are you one of them? One of the thirty million people on average who would watch the show American Idol every week?
October 11 through November 15, we're going to begin our own search for idols, but our search isn't for America's next great singing talent, whom many will idolize. Instead, we're on a search for a different kind of idol.
We'll be asking the question: Is it possible that we American Christians worship at the feet of idols -- idols that don't look like idols, but ones that receive our worship and order our lives, all the while demanding andtaking what rightly belongs to Jesus?
We all know what idolatry is, but do we actually know it when we see it -- especially in ourselves?
What idols do we place before (and instead of) our God?
Idols of work?
Idols of success?
Idols of addiction?
Idols of family?
Idols of busy-ness?
Idols of wealth?
It's time to get honest about ourselves and the gods that we serve before (and instead of) the God whose greatest desire is for us to know and share the fullness of life through him.Comediscover the true freedom we can know as we begin to resist the influence of idols in our everyday lives!
This series includes an all-church study offered at two different times -- Sunday mornings 10-10:45am or Wednesday evenings from 7-8:30pm. Childcare is available. To register, or for more information, please call the church office at 972-414-6460.

There's Gotta Be a Better Way! 5-week Series on the Book of James
Stressed?Overwhelmed?Broken?
Who among us hasn't felt one (or all) of these emotions at one time or another, or maybe allat once?Perhaps you or someone close to you is trying to deal with them all right now with seemingly nowhere to turn.
During the month of September we'll be takinga closer look at the Book of James which will help us realize when we cry out, "There's Gotta Be a Better Way!" -- that there is! Our exploration of this book will help strengthen your faith, sharpen your thinking and call you to fresh engagement in your Christian journey.
James speaks with authority and urgency not only about the needs in his own time, but in ours as well. The book is sort of a cross between Proverbs and the Sermon on the Mount.James muses about life and its meaning. He confronts his readers with pointed imperatives. He calls everyone, regardless of social standing, to a clarified and heightened sense of faith, community life, and obedience to the Word of God.
In search of a better way?Come discover -- or rediscover -- the timeless truth that there is a better way for us all.

Lenten Sermon Series / March 1 - April 12
Everywhere we turn we see and hear and read about the need for, and benefits of, physicalfitness. Yet it takes only a quick look around our world (and at our own lives) to see that what we truly need is spiritual fitness.
The Season of Lent is a time for strengthening spiritualdisciplines.
Much like athletes who tone up and train their bodies through a regimen of special exercises, we can use Lent as a timeto "firm up" our spiritual life through the practice of spiritual exercises.
Join us each Sunday as Pastor Wally Butts helps us explore and rediscover the true peace that comes through Spiritual Fitness in Christ.
